Former Buena Vista Correctional Facility employee Trevor Martineau appeared in court yesterday.
Martineau is charged with attempting to smuggle narcotics into the prison inside a burrito.
He was arrested July 2 and his employment was immediately terminated.
During yesterday’s proceedings, Martineau’s attorney withdrew from the case and Judge Patrick Murphy assigned the case to the public defenders office.
Martineau will next appear in court August 7 for a bond hearing.
