A criminal investigator for the Department of Corrections was formally charged yesterday in Fremont County District Court with felony assault charges following a physical altercation with his adult son.

James Michael Lusk, 49, faces two counts of assault in the second degree, two counts of crime of violence, and one count of harassment. Lusk, who serves as a criminal investigator for the Department of Corrections, is currently on leave pending an internal investigation.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 5.
