The Wet Mountain Tribune is reporting that a COVID-19 outbreak is developing in Custer County.

Tribune sources say that at least two out of the three Board of Health members are infected with Covid-19 and three citizens are currently hospitalized.

The Custer County Public Health Agency has released a statement saying, “We are actively monitoring our county’s health. It is a rapidly changing situation. We have 6 positive cases and 3 hospitalizations. Local and active monitoring is providing us the opportunity to react and update our Covid metrics more quickly than ever before.”

Custer County Public Health added that they are continuing their local and state tracing effort, but that “it is up to each Custer County resident to act responsibly when you are feeling ill. Please stay home if you are sick.”
