Chaffee County Public Health is reporting 22 new positive cases of Covid-19 in the past 7 days, 47 in the last 14 days for a 2-week positivity rate of 3.69%.
Only one of the new cases required hospitalization, the others are resting at home.
Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center is operating at 60 percent capacity.
Covid-19 has reached a high level in the San Luis Valley. There are currently 149 known active cases of Covid-19 in the San Luis Valley, including 12 in Saguache County and 77 in Alamosa County.
Governor Jared Polis said yesterday that the state has surpassed its highest level of hospitalized patients due to Covid-19. The current number of 894 exceeds numbers seen in the beginning of the pandemic.
The governor is urging Coloradans to do three things in the month of November: Only interact with members of your household, don’t go to any public gatherings. Keep your distance if you do have to go out and always wear a mask.
