The Colorado State Forest Service is awarding $9.5 million to local governments across 16 Colorado counites to help reduce the risks of wildfires.
The Incentives for Local Government grant program will fund 28 forest management and wildfire projects around the state. Chaffee County was awarded just over $575,000 for the Chaffee Landscape and Community Fire Mitigation Project.
