Colorado Mountain College to Host Public Meeting on Forster Academic Center’s Future

Colorado Mountain College (CMC) is hosting a public meeting tonight to gather input on the future of the Forster Academic Center in Buena Vista.

The meeting will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Forster Academic Center.

In 2004, 36 acres of land were donated to CMC for educational purposes. The Buena Vista community raised over $2 million to build the campus, which has seen limited activity.

CMC is now exploring the best use of the property, which may include:

• Repurposing the building for new educational programs
• Selling the property and reinvesting proceeds into CMC programs in Chaffee County
