Colorado Department of Corrections Reports 4 COVID Deaths

The Colorado Department of Corrections is reporting 4 inmate deaths this week.   

The DOC continues to ramp up Covid-19 testing in all of its facilities.   

The Department has conducted more that 95,000 tests since the pandemic began.  The current inmate population is 14,000 and there are 1,558 active inmate cases.  The DOC employs 6,182 full-time staff and has 207 active staff member positive cases.   

There have been 11 inmate deaths since the pandemic began, and the four inmate deaths reported this week were: 

  • A 62-year-old from the Fremont Correctional Facility. 
  • A 64-year-old from the Colorado Territorial Facility.  
  • A 66-year-old from the Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility. 
  • A 74-year-old from the Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility.
