Salida to Upgrade Downtown Lighting with Energy-Efficient LED and Dark-Sky Compliant Fixtures
The City of Salida is set to upgrade the light fixtures in its downtown area with new, energy-efficient LED lights that are also dark-sky compliant. This initiative is part of the city’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and preserving the unique charm of downtown Salida.
The new LED fixtures are designed to significantly reduce energy consumption while minimizing light pollution, all while enhancing the overall nighttime ambiance. In addition to the fixture upgrades, the existing light poles will be repainted to complement the new lights and maintain the aesthetic appeal of the area.
Painting of the light poles is scheduled to begin this week and is expected to take two weeks to complete. The installation of the new fixtures is slated for October. During this period, residents and visitors may experience minor disruptions, such as temporary street closures and reduced parking availability in the affected areas.
