Starting today, the City of Salida is launching an innovative pilot program that transitions city offices to a 4-day work week. Under this new initiative, city employees will have the option to work 10-hour days from Monday to Thursday, with city offices closing to the public on Fridays.
The City of Salida aims to enhance work-life balance for its employees, boost productivity, and improve service delivery to the public through this program. Despite the change in office hours, essential services, including emergency response, will continue to operate on their regular schedules to ensure uninterrupted service to the community.
To accommodate the new schedule, city offices in the Touber Building will now extend their hours from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Thursday. City Administrator Christy Doon mentioned in a press release, “We have heard positive feedback from Chaffee County on their program and are determining whether this flexible scheduling would work for the City as well.”
Residents and businesses are encouraged to adjust their interactions with city offices accordingly and take advantage of the extended hours from Monday to Thursday. This pilot program reflects the City of Salida’s commitment to maintaining high service standards while meeting the community’s needs.
The City of Salida remains dedicated to evaluating the effectiveness of this new schedule and ensuring that it continues to serve the best interests of both the employees and the public.
