The Salida Public Works Department is performing fire hydrant flushing associated with construction of a water main.
Flushing activities are generally occurring between F Street and K Streets. Discoloration of water may occur during this time. Staff has tested the water quality, which includes bacteriological and chlorine testing per State Standards, to ensure that it is safe to drink. Running water through fixtures may be necessary to clear individual service lines if your water is discolored. Individual service lines can be flushed more efficiently by turning on an outside spigot. Flushing is anticipated to be complete by Friday, January 7th. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may create.
