The Chaffee County Community Foundation is reporting that over $115,000 was given to local nonprofits in just 24 hours on Colorado Gives Day this past Tuesday.
Compared to Colorado Gives Day 2019, this year saw 31 Chaffee nonprofit organizations participating—a 19 percent increase. These organizations received a total of 713 donations totaling $119,552—a 79 percent increase.
The giving surge reflected a statewide increase on Colorado Gives Day. Overall, $50 million was donated to almost 3,000 organizations.
Chaffee County Community Foundation Executive Director Josh Teipel said, “The generosity on display this Chaffee Gives Day was truly inspiring. We all need inspiration this year, and donors came through in huge ways. Philanthropy is powerful, and we here at CCCF are honored to be a part of promoting the incredible organizations that make Chaffee a special place to live all year round.”
Chaffee residents can still donate to their favorite organization at chaffeegives.org. The platform is live year-round.
