The Chaffee Housing Authority Board of Directors and Staff will be hosting community events on Monday, August 8th to discuss the organization’s strategic plan and recruit volunteers to support a ballot initiative to create a dedicated funding stream for attainable and affordable housing in Chaffee County that will likely appear on the November 2022 County ballot.

Volunteers will be participants in the soon-to-be-formed ballot issue committee called Chaffee Housing Solutions. Chaffee Housing Solutions will be hosting recruitment events on August 8th, 2022, from
5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the following locations:

● Soulcraft Brewery in Salida
● Deerhammer Distillery in Buena Vista

“This housing crisis cannot be addressed with state and federal financial resources alone; Chaffee
County needs local, consistent, and sustainable funding sources to respond to our unique local needs,”
said Becky Gray, Director of Chaffee Housing Authority.

Chaffee County communities are facing a severe housing affordability crisis, one that is pushing out –
or keeping out – local workforce, friends, and neighbors. The Chaffee Housing Authority has
established a strategic plan to address the issue, and has been successfully establishing and operating
programs to get people into safe, stable, and affordable housing.

Danny “Dan R” Ridenour has been in radio and television broadcasting for over 40 years, starting as a senior in high school in Rogers, Arkansas. His radio career has had stops in Nashville, Memphis, Oklahoma, and eventually, Colorado. Dan enjoys being involved in the community, having been a member of the Upper Arkansas Service Club and is currently on the board of directors for the Salida Community Center and is a member of the Chaffee County Fair Committee.
