The Chaffee County Board of Commissioners has announced a partnership with the Chaffee County Community Foundation to administer the Chaffee Common Ground competitive grants program.

Established in 2018, the Common Ground program was created after Chaffee County voters approved a local conservation finance measure. The quarter-of-a-cent sales tax supports efforts to:

  • Improve and sustain forest and watershed health
  • Conserve and support working lands and agriculture
  • Manage the negative impacts of recreation growth

Since its inception, the Common Ground Fund has contributed over $9 million toward local conservation solutions.

The 2025 Common Ground grant cycle will kick off in early April.
