Chaffee County Hospitality Inc. has opened two winter shelters.
The men’s shelter is located at the First Christian Church at 302 East 4th Street. The women’s shelter is located at the Methodist Church at 228 East 4th. The shelters will be open from 8:30 pm to 8:30 am through April 30th.
Families with children will be lodged in local motels with limits of length of stay.
Chaffee County Hospitality is in the process of hiring night managers. Pay is $150 per night. Chaffee Hospitality is also in the process of raising $109,000, which will be used to pay the night staff and motel vouchers, as well as to purchase sleeping bags, pads, tents and other cold weather supplies.
