As wildfires rage across Los Angeles, Chaffee County’s South Arkansas Fire Protection District has deployed a Type III engine and a four-person crew to assist with the efforts in California.

The fires have burned over 30,000 acres, destroyed thousands of structures, and claimed at least 10 lives. Tens of thousands have been evacuated, with officials warning that the full extent of the damage remains unclear.

Chaffee County joins responders from across the country in providing critical support to California during this disaster.
