Chaffee County Community Foundation’s ‘Community Summit’ Invites Regional Nonprofits to a Day of Learning & Collaboration

CHAFFEE COUNTY, CO  – The Chaffee County Community Foundation (CCCF) today announced its 2024 Community Summit, offering Chaffee County nonprofits training in skills building, professional development, leadership growth, and collaboration opportunities through the day-long program.

The agenda includes keynote speaker, Denise Ackert, offering two sessions on the 2024 theme of “Building Bridges – Strengthening Community Connections.” Morning workshops include grant writing, volunteer management, board development, and online marketing. The afternoon will feature a panel on Business/Nonprofit partnerships and a funder panel featuring an opportunity to connect in-person with representatives from The Colorado Trust, El Pomar Foundation, The Colorado Health Foundation, Freeport McMoran Foundation and more. 

New this year, the program will feature a Nonprofit Board Member Training from 1:15 – 3:15 pm. Designed specifically for current board members, this training will focus on developing an understanding of board member roles, fiduciary duties, governance, and engaging the entire board. Local and regional boards are encouraged to send one or more members to this interactive sessions to strengthen their board’s effectiveness. 

Thanks to the generosity of the community summit sponsors, CCCF can offer discounted tickets and scholarships to those actively working and volunteering in the nonprofit sector. The early bird ticket price is available for $40 to nonprofit professionals and volunteers now through April 5th. The Nonprofit Professional rate is $50 and General Admission is $65. Americorps members are always free to attend CCCF learning events. Nonprofit professionals seeking scholarships should contact Anna@chaffeecommunity.org.

All tickets include a goody bag, breakfast, lunch and appetizers. Attendees are welcome to drop in for one session or stay all day. Chaffee County Public Health is sponsoring a mental health zone offering aromatherapy, AcuDetox and other options for a moment of rest and rejuvenation for attendees. The Colorado Gives Foundation is offering one on one consultations for attendees seeking to answer specific questions or problem solve their CO Gives page.

The event is open to nonprofit and community agency leaders from the Arkansas River Valley and surrounding regions.
