The Chaffee Common Ground Citizens Advisory Committee has released its fifth annual report revealing that nearly $1.5 million in grants were awarded during 2023’s funding cycle.

Awards included $450,000 for forest health and wildfire resilience, $588,000 to sustain rural landscapes, and $402,000 for recreation management. Matching cash and in-kind funds totaled $835,000 in 2023. 

To date, over $7.6 million has been awarded by Common Ground to dozens of local groups. Matching investments for these grants will bring $28 million in value to the community by 2026. All project and program activities, as well as funding information, is provided in the report that is available at chaffeecommonground.org.

The Chaffee Common Ground Citizens Advisory Committee announced that $750,000 will be available during their latest grant cycle.
