As we approach the hottest weekend of the year, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is issuing a crucial reminder about the dangers of vehicular heatstroke.

Drivers are strongly urged to never leave a parked vehicle unattended with children, older individuals, or pets inside. Heatstroke can occur in vehicles even when outdoor temperatures are as low as 57 degrees. With higher temperatures, the risk increases significantly, as the temperature inside a parked vehicle can reach nearly 100 degrees within minutes.

Stay vigilant and ensure the safety of your loved ones by never leaving them unattended in a vehicle, especially during this extreme heat.
