The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has released an update on the ongoing intersection improvement project at Highway 285/50 in Poncha Springs. Crews have completed paving from the intersection to Maysville and rebuilt the intersection islands to accommodate larger vehicles.
New signal poles have been installed at the southwest and southeast corners of the intersection, with the remaining poles expected to arrive in mid-October. Until then, motorists can expect one-lane traffic and reduced speeds in the work zone.
CDOT anticipates the project will be completed by mid-November. The improvements are designed to enhance safety by addressing the sharp curve that previously posed a hazard at the intersection.
