The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is advising motorists to avoid the intersection of Highway 285 and 50 in Poncha Springs next week as paving begins on the realignment project. This advisory is particularly crucial for the intersection of Highway 285 and County Road 128.

Paving Schedule and Impact:

  • Start Date: Monday
  • Duration: All week
  • Impact: The intersection will be closed for extended periods to allow asphalt curing.
  • Delays: Extensive delays are expected at the US 285 and County Road 128 intersection. Motorists are urged to use alternate routes.

Additional Traffic Restrictions:

  • US 285:
    • 10-minute delays for vehicles in both directions within the paving zone and at the Visitor’s Center entrance.
