The Buena Vista Police Department has identified the man killed in a motorcycle/car crash that occurred last Friday on Highway 24 at Mill Street. The man has been identified as 32-year-old Carlos Guzman.
Mr. Guzman was traveling southbound on Highway 24 when a pick-up truck driven by 53-year-old Michael Pelc of Buena Vista made a left-hand turn from the highway in front of Guzman, causing the crash. Pelc has been charged with vehicular homicide and driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
The Buena Vista Police Department is investigating and continues to gather witness statements. If you have information or were in the area with a dash-cam, you are asked to contact the Buena Vista Police Department.
