Browns Canyon National Monument has been certified as an International Dark Sky Park by DarkSky International, recognizing its commitment to dark-sky conservation and education.
The effort, organized by Friends of Browns Canyon, included night sky events, fundraisers, concerts, and photography outings. This designation promotes the monument’s pristine night skies through managed lighting and visitor education.
Browns Canyon now becomes Colorado’s 18th Dark Sky Place, covering nearly 22,000 acres of public land along the Arkansas River.
