Brandon Scott Henderson, 40, passed away on January 10, 2025, in Salida, Colorado. He was born on May 5, 1984, in Salida to Mike and Patty Henderson.
Brandon grew up exploring the mountains he loved, spending his childhood camping, fishing, and hiking with his family. A smart and curious kid, he attended Salida High School, graduating with the SHS Class of 2002. He was a member of the Golf Team, the Babe Ruth Baseball Team, the Football Youth League and excelled in basketball as well.
A diehard Colorado sports fan, Brandon took pride in his collection of Broncos, Nuggets, Avalanche & CU Buffalo memorabilia. He was an accomplished CAD draftsman, working at Henderson Land Surveying, where he contributed to the family business with pride and dedication. He was able to attend this year’s Broncos season opener which gave him great joy and excitement.Brandon was a deep thinker and a poet at heart, viewing the world with a profound perspective. His writing revealed the depth of his thoughts, emotions, and love for life. He lived with intensity – feeling deeply, thinking deeply, and loving deeply. He will surely be missed but never forgotten.
He had been a tremendous help to his dad over the last few months, taking him to doctor’s appointments in Denver and helping out during his father’s health issues.
Brandon is survived by his parents, Mike and Patty Henderson of Nathrop; his siblings, Rick Henderson of Salida and Heather and Dustin Block of Lakewood; nieces Chelsea Henderson and Miranda Dunavin of Salida; Sofie Mason, and nephew Vaughn Mason of Lakewood; his grandmother, Ivy Deal, Uncle Gene & Aunt Susan Deal of Phoenix, AZ, & cousin Chris Deal of Tucson, AZ; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bud & Leona Henderson and Guy Deal.
A family memorial will be held this summer in the mountains that brought Brandon so much joy and peace.
