[UPDATE] Avalanche and snow removal operations have been completed.

[Original post] Colorado Department of Transportation crews is conducting avalanche and snow removal operations on Monarch Pass, Hwy 50, today (Dec. 3rd). The operation is expected to continue until 11 am.

Traffic will be stopped between mile markers 202 and 203.

The exact time of reopening the highway is not known and the closure may last for as long as two hours. Regional travelers should plan ahead, allow for extra travel time, or arrive and drive through the gates before the designated closure time.
