The Boys and Girls Clubs of Chaffee County are launching into summer with an exciting adventure today, thanks to a generous sponsorship from the Arkansas River Outfitters Association. Over 200 enthusiastic kids from Chaffee County, Denver, Pueblo County, Fremont County, and the San Luis Valley are gearing up for an unforgettable rafting trip.

Divided into two groups, the children will embark on their aquatic journey from two scenic launch points. One group will set sail from Buena Vista, while the other will commence their adventure from Cotopaxi.

This thrilling escapade wouldn’t be possible without the support of various participating outfitters. Noah’s Ark, Wilderness Aware, Rocky Mountain Outdoor Center, River Runners, The Adventure Company, Arkansas River Tours, Royal Gorge Rafting, Performance Tours, and Echo Canyon River Expeditions have all stepped up to ensure the kids have a safe and exhilarating experience on the water.

The event promises not only fun and excitement but also valuable opportunities for personal growth and camaraderie. As the children navigate the rapids, they’ll learn teamwork, resilience, and the importance of outdoor recreation. For many, this rafting trip will be a highlight of their summer, creating lasting memories and instilling a love for adventure and exploration.
