The Ark-Valley Humane Society (AVHS) has been awarded a $30,000 grant from the Ray Foundation to support animal medical care and related expenses.

AVHS Executive Director Nikki Ritter expressed gratitude for the grant, highlighting its importance in sustaining the organization’s mission to combat pet overpopulation through spay and neuter programs. The funding will also ensure that all animals under AVHS care receive top-quality medical treatment.

In 2023, AVHS’s Community Assistance Spay and Neuter program, which offers low-cost options to the public, facilitated 264 surgeries. Additionally, their in-house program conducted 212 surgeries for shelter animals.

This grant will enable AVHS to continue its vital work, benefiting both animals and the community they serve.
