Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center Foundation is offering two
scholarships of $2,500 for current college students planning to pursue a career in healthcare.
The scholarship is available to any college student who lives or has lived within the Salida
Hospital District, which encompasses all of Chaffee, western Fremont and northern Saguache
counties.
Applicants must currently be attending college and continuing in the fall of 2024, have a
minimum college grade point average (GPA) of 3.2, and already have earned at least 24 college credit hours. Applicants may not be related to an HRRMC Foundation board member.

The HRRMC Foundation scholarship was renamed in honor of Charles J Forster, who was an
HRRMC Board Member from 1996 to 2016 and on the HRRMC Foundation Board from 1998 to 2014. As chairman of the Foundation Board, Charlie ensured multiple campaigns to raise money for HRRMC facilities.
