The Office of the Chaffee County Clerk and Recorder has confirmed that Alison Brown, Republican candidate for County Commissioner District 3, has submitted the required number of signatures to qualify for placement on the June 28th Chaffee County primary election ballot.
On March 3rd, Brown submitted 332 petition signatures to the Election Office. Of these, 54 signatures were rejected and 278 were accepted. Under Colorado law, a prospective candidate’s petition must contain a number of valid signatures equaling at least 10 percent of the number of votes cast in the last primary election for the office being sought. Alison Brown’s submission of 278 valid signatures exceeded the minimum of 216 signatures required.
Brown will now face Brandon Becker in the Republican primary June 28th with the winner facing Democrat P.T. Wood in November.
