Chaffee County, CO – Save the Date! Chaffee County Public Health (CCPH) is thrilled to invite you to the 2024 Embracing Aging Expo on Friday, September 13th. This event is designed to support and celebrate older adults in our community by providing a variety of activities and resources tailored to their needs. The Expo offers a valuable opportunity for social connection, learning, and engagement, addressing the challenges and opportunities associated with aging.

As reported by the state’s demographer, 27% of Chaffee County residents are aged 65 and older—a percentage that has steadily risen over the past decade. Colorado is the fastest-aging state in the nation. In response to these demographic trends, Chaffee County has implemented targeted initiatives to meet the growing and complex needs of older adults and their support networks. CCPH, in collaboration with numerous community stakeholders, has developed the Aging Well Program. This comprehensive initiative includes Age Strong Chaffee, the Embracing Aging Expo, and a variety of educational and social activities, such as Yoga for Grown-Ups, Game Day, and Ark Valley Helping Hands. These programs aim to provide holistic support and create a vibrant, connected community for our older residents.
