While universities nationwide are experiencing declining enrollment, Adams State University in Alamosa is reporting a 5% rise in undergraduate enrollment for the fall semester compared to 2023.
A key factor contributing to this growth is the “Adams Promise” initiative, which offers free tuition and fees to Colorado students from families earning less than $75,000 annually. Additionally, any student graduating from a San Luis Valley high school is automatically admitted to the university, further encouraging local enrollment.
