Winter Weather Advisory for Monday, February 3

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through Tuesday for areas above 10,000 feet.

A winter storm will bring much colder air today, with snowfall possible across much of the area.  Up to a foot of new snow is possible over the mountains; 4 to 8 inches could fall in the valley over the next two days.

Winds will be gusting as high as 50 mph.

Salida and Buena Vista will see a high of 43 today; an overnight low of 9.  A daytime high of 19 is expected tomorrow.

The San Luis Valley can expect a high of 37, a low of 7.

Leadville and Fairplay will see a high of 27, a low of -7.

Given the much colder temperatures, even light amounts of snow could cause hazardous travel conditions with slick and snow covered roads.
