Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) has opened a new round of grant funding to help local communities reduce human-bear conflicts through the Human-Bear Conflict Reduction Community Grant Program.
Eligible applicants include:
- Local governments, HOAs, and community groups
- Businesses and individuals
Grant awards range from $50,000 to $500,000.
According to CPW, Colorado is home to an estimated 17,000 to 20,000 bears, with 27,000 reported sightings and conflicts between 2019 and 2024.
