A Winter Weather Advisory remains active through tomorrow morning, with hazardous travel conditions expected. Ski and holiday travelers should prepare for difficult driving, potential road closures, and delays. State law requires commercial vehicles to carry chains, while passenger vehicles must have adequate snow tires for mountain travel. Heavy traffic is anticipated in affected areas.
The Colorado Avalanche Information Center has also issued an Avalanche Warning for much of the state. Heavy snowfall and strong winds have created very dangerous avalanche conditions, and travel in or near avalanche terrain is strongly discouraged.
