The Town of Buena Vista is conducting a community-wide survey to better understand residents’ priorities about trails, recreation facilities, programs, and parks and explore interest in future projects and funding options. The survey can be found HERE and on the Buena Vista Recreation Department survey website.

This survey is open through December 15th and should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Respondents will be entered into an opportunity drawing for one of several prizes provided by the following companies:

Survey Goals
This survey seeks to understand the community’s priorities around:
· Safety walking and biking around town · Conditions and accessibility of parks, trails, facilities, and programming
· Improvements to existing parks, recreation facilities, trails, and programming
· New parks, trails, and recreation facilities
· Willingness to pay for the maintenance and expansion of recreational assets
Buena Vista Recreation and Parks Departments lack a Sustainable and Dedicated Funding Source
Under consideration in this survey are potential funding mechanisms to support parks, recreational facilities, programming, and trails in Buena Vista. These funding mechanisms include a property tax, a sales tax, a lodging tax, or General Obligation bonds.
