Honey’s journey has been very emotional and uplifting as the community came together to help this sweet girl in need. 4 year-old American Pit Bull mix Honey came to AVHS after she jumped from a vehicle and broke her femur. Due to the location of the break up near her hip, Honey needed a specialized surgery in order to repair her injury. AVHS asked for donations for the surgery and the community answered the call! Honey received this specialized procedure on Wednesday, October 16th.

AVHS is happy to report that she is doing well post-surgery! The veterinarian overseeing her care has determined that she is medically stable. Now, she is ready for the next step in her journey to find a loving family. Due to the type of surgery she received, it will take some time for Honey to become more comfortable with the use of her leg. She is looking for a special home to help her continue to heal. AVHS is so thankful to everyone who donated or shared her story, including Heart of the Rockies Radio News. You have made a difference in Honey’s life and now, she is ready for her happily ever after!
