The search continues today for a teenager who went missing in the Arkansas River in Otero County yesterday morning. The Otero County Sheriff’s Office received a distress call early Wednesday about three individuals in trouble on the water. Two of the individuals were successfully found and pulled from the river, but 19-year-old Devlin Cambeul remains missing.

In an unrelated incident, another man was rescued from the river yesterday, highlighting the dangerous conditions currently present on the Arkansas River.

As a precautionary measure, authorities have imposed restrictions on river usage from Pueblo east to La Junta. These restrictions are in place to ensure public safety and to assist in the ongoing search and rescue operations.

Residents and visitors are urged to comply with these restrictions and exercise caution near the river. Authorities are continuing their efforts to locate Devlin Cambeul and ask anyone with information that could assist in the search to come forward.

The community’s thoughts are with the family and friends of the missing teenager during this difficult time. Updates will be provided as the search continues.
