Martin Appointed to Salida Council/F Street Closure Fails

The Salida City Council last night appointed Wayles Martin to the open Ward 3 Council seat.  The seat became vacant when Harald Kasper resigned in early February.  Seven citizens applied for the open seat.  Martin will be sworn into office at the next council meeting.    

Also at last night’s meeting, Councilman Justin Critelli made a motion to reauthorize the closure of F Street this summer but failed to get a second, and therefore failed.  Mayor Dan Shore promised that the conversations on the closure will continue with all interested parties involved.
