John was born to Donald and Vivian on April 29, 1965, in Lake Park, Minnesota, and he was found dead in his home in Buena Vista, Colorado on March 4, 2024.
John grew up on a farm on a lake 2 miles from town, and he moved away soon after graduating from high school. His brother, Steve, who was 13 years older went away to the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York before John went to school. His sisters, Carol, who was 11 years older, and Cindy, who was 10 years older left home not long after, so he was basically alone with his parents while he attended school.
After graduation he moved to Colorado where he spent the rest of his life. The photo of John is what he looked like at that time. He married Kim Allen of Fairplay, Colorado while he worked in Breckenridge grooming ski slopes during the night. John was very industrious, as he soon began learning the water welling business working for Kim’s dad. Unfortunately, their marriage did not last, and he soon moved to Buena Vista, Colorado to start his own water well drilling business, White Water Drilling, which had success until a downturn in the economy occurred when he had to sell his business. He then found a job driving heavy equipment for several companies while continuing to live in Buena Vista.
John made many friends and acquaintances, and he will be sorely missed by all.
