The U.S. Forest Service plans to implement the Threemile Creek prescribed fire this weekend.

The project is scheduled to begin on Sunday, October 15th, and continue through Tuesday, October 17th. It involves burning up to 750 acres per day between Eddy Creek and Browns Creek, about three miles west of Centerville. Temporary road closures are currently in place.

Smoke will be visible for several days.

Also, you may have noticed the Mount Shavano prescribed burn, which began on September 25th, is still putting up smoke as the interior pockets of fuels are consumed. Firefighters continue to monitor the area.
