The President of the FIBArk Board of Directors, Lindsay Sutton-Stephens, told Heart of the Rockies Radio News that after the loss of the Sun Valley Rides Carnival, they are trying to “pivot to the positive.”
According to Sutton-Stephens, the FIBArk Board of Directors had been working with Sun Valley Rides, local residents, and businesses on Wednesday, but a compromise couldn’t be reached. The carnival chose to withdraw their participation and leave.
In keeping with the spirit of FIBArk, they are creating a “Hooligan Carnival” with an American Ninja Warrior Course, a zipline down Sackett Street between two cherry pickers set up by Captain Zipline, and Ramps & Alleys are setting up a full skateboard course. They are also challenging the community to come together and build the Hooligan Carnival on Sackett Street.
For families with kids ages 6 and under, the FIBArk Kid Zone remains with bounce houses, activities like painting, Lego building, and kinetic sand, plus snacks will be available for purchase.
Sutton-Stephens admitted that due to the carnival leaving, they will be refunding $25,000 worth of pre-sale tickets. The logistics haven’t been worked out yet, but the Board of Directors promises to have a refund system in place very soon.
