The Salida City Council has begun the conversation of closing F Street again this summer.
Closing F Street to form the F Steet Plaza began in the summer of 2020 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The closure allows downtown businesses to move out into the street. It has been especially popular with downtown restaurants that have added outside dining.
There is a discussion this year concerning a fee to be paid by F Street businesses between Sackett Avenue to the middle of 2nd and 3rd Streets. Mayor Dan Shore the money collected from the new fee could be used for signage to direct people towards other locations and streets in town.
