Property owners are reminded of their responsibility to remove snow and ice from sidewalks.
Many members of our community highly value the ability to walk their neighborhoods, business areas, and have accessible routes. Ignoring snow removal poses safety hazards, especially when conditions lead to a layer of ice. Please place the snow in your parkway or yard and not within the roadway.
Citizens are also encouraged to utilize off-street parking during snow storms. Cars parked on the roadway during snow plowing operations limit the ability to effectively plow the street which can lead to prolonged ice build-up.
During larger snow events, staff will be working to remove snow from the downtown early the following morning. This work is generally located between E Street and G Street and between Sackett Street and 4th Street. Access will be intermittent during work activities and on-street parking will be prohibited.
