A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect. Total accumulations of 5 to 7 inches are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially over high mountain passes.
With wind gusts of up to 40 mph, blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility over high mountain passes. Cold wind chill values as low as 25 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Snow is expected to continue into the afternoon.
Temperatures will be cold today.
Salida and Buena Vista can expect a high of 29. Look for an overnight low of 11.
The San Luis Valley will see a high of 25, a low of 5.
Leadville and Fairplay will warm up to 13 with a low of -5.
