A missing climber was found deceased in the Sangre de Cristo mountains yesterday.
41-year-old Luis Corkern had been climbing Challenger Point and Kit Carson Peak east of Crestone, on Saturday when he went missing.
The Saguache County Sheriff’s Office said his body was spotted by a Colorado Department of Fire Prevention helicopter. Officials said he apparently fell from a ridge between the two peaks. His body was recovered.
Corkern was from Dallas where he is survived by a wife and three young children.
