The Colorado Department of Transportation will begin bridge replacement work on Highway 285 over the South Fork of the South Platte between Fairplay and Antero Junction beginning today.

Work will require a three-month full closure of U.S. 285 between Colorado 9 and Highway 24 beginning July 11 and will remain closed until mid-October.

The Colorado Department of Transportation has started improvements to Colorado Highway 96 in Custer County.

The resurfacing project will improve 26 miles of CO 96 from Westcliffe to Wetmore and is expected to be completed in November.

Work will take place during daylight hours Monday through Friday. No weekend work is anticipated.

Motorists should allow for travel delays of up to 15 minutes.

Motorists should also expect delays on Highway 24 from Woodland Park to Colorado Springs. Paving operations will reduce the highway to one-lane alternating traffic.
