Students of Salida High School will shift to remote learning on Wednesday and Thursday, March 16 and 17, 2022.
Student and staff absences this week have been impacted by COVID, seasonal flu and a stomach illness (vomiting and diarrhea). Student absences this week at the high school reached nearly 20% and staff absences have stretched the Districts’ substitute capacity once again.
Despite the dedicated support of subs and fellow staff members, it was decided to shift the high school to remote learning for the remainder of the week. Moving the high school to remote will allow the District to maximize resources, dedicate substitutes to in-person learning to keep our younger students in their school buildings.
SHS teachers will be in communication with their students, and will be taking attendance. The SHS remote schedule is posted online at http://salidahigh.ss13.sharpschool.com/.
Students with questions should reach out to their teachers. Activities and sports will continue as scheduled.
School nurses remind the community that if your student is sick with a fever or a stomach illness they should stay home. A good rule of thumb is to stay home until 24 hours after symptoms have ended to protect others. If a student has a sore throat or unexplained congestion they should check with their school nurse to determine best steps.
