A potent, fast moving storm will bring strong winds, snow and rain to the area today. 

Heavy snow is expected is southwest Colorado, up to 2 feet. Near impossible travel conditions are expected over Wolf Creek Pass. 

Lesser snow totals are expected for the central mountains, up to 5 inches, however it will be very windy. 

A High Wind Warning is in effect. Wind gusts of 80 mph will be possible tonight across the mountain passes.

If you plan to travel, plan accordingly.

Salida and Buena Vista can expect a high of 41. Look for an overnight low of 15.

The San Luis Valley will see a high of 35, a low of 5.

Leadville and Fairplay will warm up to 27 with a low of 3.
