The Chaffee County Community Foundation will launch a search for a fulltime Executive Director to continue the growth and wide-ranging contributions provided to the community.
Joseph Teipel, outgoing Executive Director will be leaving to assume a position September 1, 2021 with the Town of Buena Vista.
Board Chair Ed Cooper stated, “Joseph has led the organization to become an essential part of the Chaffee County fabric. We are appreciative of his leadership and look forward to a new chapter in the organization’s growth.”
Key accomplishments of CCCF in the past two years include establishing and activating the Emergency Response Fund to raise more than $1 million for hundreds of Chaffee households, nonprofits, and small businesses; partnering with the Town of Buena Vista, the City of Salida, and Sangre de Cristo Electric Association to streamline and make more consistent their community grant programs; designing and building two critical nonprofit support programs – VIAChaffee.org and ChaffeeCOMMONS; and catalyzing the design, fundraising, and entitlement of the forthcoming housing development known as Jane’s Place.
“To be able to serve the Chaffee community in this capacity has been a deep honor. I very much look forward to continuing to support CCCF as it grows into the future.” states Teipel. Foundation operations will continue as the CCCF Board and Advisors convene to develop the position description for the next Executive Director and initiate the search process.
The community foundation was established in early 2018 when a group of volunteer community members formed its founding board of directors. Ten founding donors stepped forward to underwrite the startup of the organization, recognizing the power of having a neutral convener and catalyzer in the county. Learn more at ChaffeeCommunity.org.
