The City of Salida has closed off the 2nd and 3rd street blocks of F Street for restaurants and for more ease in social distancing in downtown.
This means there are some concrete blocks keeping traffic from driving down those roads. While good for the businesses, gray concrete isn’t necessarily the best aesthetic, so the city has teamed up with local artists, using some grant money to pay them to paint the blocks, giving F Street even a little more local flair.
Dustin Tidwell of Painted Medicine is one of the artists painting, and he talks about how he found out about what was being done.
Expect to see more artists out in the next few days working on their selected blocks.
