Commonwealth Development Corporation has been awarded $1.2 million in Low Income Tax Credits for the development of a 48-unit affordable housing complex in Salida’s Confluent Park.

Confluent Park Apartments will add 24 one-bedroom, 21 two-bedroom, and 3 three-bedroom discounted rent units for residents between 30 and 60 percent of the Area Median Income—the workforce making Salida’s tourist economy possible.

The complex will be part of a larger development that will include single-family homes and retail opportunities.

Construction of Confluent Park Apartments should start in early 2021 and housing applications will be available through Commonwealth, who will also manage the property.

[Note: Confluent Park is part of the Vandaveer Ranch property, east of Salida, across from the Forest Service Building.]
